Maureen Takes Gold at 2017 Summer USA Climbing Adaptive Nationals!
Yet another Nationals comes through, and another victory for Beast Fingers athlete, Maureen Beck! The USA Climbing Adaptive Nationals is held each year, with top athletes advancing to the National Team for qualifying for World championship events. This years event was held in Somerville, MA on June 24, 2017.
The USA Climbing Adaptive National Championship is the largest gathering of adaptive climbing athletes in the USA. More than just a climbing competition, the Adaptive Climbing Championship is a gathering that embraces adaptive climbers of all levels incorporating community events and climber development clinics into the weekend's festivities.
Maureen took first place, with second place taken by Caitlin Pereiras in the Upper Extremity Amputee division. Proceeding the event, Maureen took the time to have fun building friendships, and talking to athletes on how she trains, and prepares for competitions.
